Konrad Hornschuh (DE) adds colour to the World Cup
Hornschuh likes to call himself a ‘surface specialist’. Last year, the company rewrote the quality standard for imitation leather with the introduction of a new breathing, durable product.
This biosynthetic fabric is based on renewable, natural materials. And Hornschuh is still on trend: the VIP seats at the South Africa World Cup are upholstered in his leatherette - in the colours of South Africa. Hornschuh went one better by creating laif®, a new imitation leather that feels cool in warm weather making it ideal for projects in hot countries. Architects and project designers have found this product seriously ‘cool’. They weren’t alone: laif® picked up the iF design award.
